House rules for the burrow

Acceptable Use Policy

Last updated 2026-07-06

This policy applies to every server we host and to anyone who uses one. Keeping to it keeps the whole burrow safe.

You must not use a server to

  • host, store, or distribute illegal content, or do anything unlawful;
  • attack, disrupt, or overload other systems — including DDoS attacks, port scanning, intrusion attempts, or sending spam;
  • run cryptocurrency mining or similar workloads unrelated to the game server you ordered;
  • resell, sublicense, or rent your server or our service to others without our written consent;
  • infringe intellectual property, or ignore the end-user license agreements and terms of Mojang and any other game or mod publisher whose software you run;
  • distribute malware, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to any account, server, or network.
The goblin hoards servers, not trouble. He is happy to keep your world safe and fed — he will not keep anything that puts other people, or their servers, at risk.

Resource use

Use the CPU, memory, and disk that come with your plan for their intended purpose — running your game server. Deliberately abusing shared resources to the detriment of other customers is not allowed.

Enforcement

If we believe a server violates this policy, we may suspend or terminate it, with or without notice depending on the severity and any legal obligations. Where practical we will contact you first so you can fix the problem. Serious or repeated violations may end your account.

Reporting abuse

Seen something that breaks these rules on a HostGoblin server? Tell us at goblin@hostgoblin.com and the goblin will look into it.
